Navigating the ESG Regulatory Landscape: A Practical Journey with Ferrero

In this joint presentation by Inverto and Ferrero, we will explore the rapidly evolving European ESG regulatory framework and its concrete implications for multinational businesses. With a focus on the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CS3D), we will illustrate how Ferrero is proactively adapting its supply chain, procurement strategies, and reporting practices to meet new compliance requirements. Nicola Somenzi is the Head of Responsible Sourcing at Ferrero, where over the past three years he has lead the creation of the department with the objective to “embed sustainability into the business”. After getting a Bachelor's degree at the Univeristy of Parma and becoming a researcher at Bocconi, Nicola worked for the Boston Consulting Group for over ten years, living in Hong Kong, Instanbul, Dubai and Milan. He joined Ferrero in 2017 where he initially helped to set-up the Risk Management team and later designed the new hazelnut industrial footprint
